The Director General of Kuwait’s Ports Authority said it was ready to help Lebanon restart operations Beirut’s port after a devastating explosion last week.
Sheikh Yousef Abdullah Al Sabah, who is also President of the Arab Sea Ports Federation, said on Tuesday that the Ports Authority was ready to provide all necessary assistance to restore operations at the country’s ports.
Sheikh Yousef said Kuwait would also offer help with food security, as it ranks first in the Arab world in this field.
During a meeting with Lebanese Charge d’Affairs to Kuwait Basil Oweidat, he discussed work on the port and the development of other Lebanese ports in Tripoli, Sidon and Tyre.
Sheikh Yousef said they would help by providing all economic and strategic studies in the field of port development to Lebanon.
Mr Oweidat thanked Kuwait, the leadership and the people for their quick response after the explosion by operating an air bridge, providing health and medical supplies, state news agency Kuna reported.
