Thales, a global technology leader in the Aerospace, Transportation, Space and Defence & Security markets, announces the launch of a new Cyber and Consulting organisation which will provide customers with consulting services in digital transformation and cybersecurity.
The new offering forms a key part of the existing Thales critical information systems and cybersecurity business line. It provides cybersecurity, digital transformation and engineering consultancy for companies and organisations in complex and highly regulated environments, who are seeking to exploit the benefits of the most recent breakthroughs in digital technology, whilst mitigating the cyber-risk of doing so.
“Thales has a one hundred-year heritage of expertise in defence, security, transportation, space and critical national infrastructure. Our new Cyber and Consulting Services organisation is our latest innovation for keeping customers safe from cyber threats.
Victor Chavez, CEO Thales in the UK
As part of this initiative, Thales is developing its own Consulting Academy for engineers alongside strategic partnerships with British Universities. Across the whole economy, there are significant shortfalls in the number of people needed in digital and cybersecurity engineering, not least as the demand in the private sector for those skills is intensifying. In response, Thales is engaging with partners, aiming to foster the development of particular skillsets among graduates. Thales is developing its collaboration with higher education institutions, sponsoring courses and even delivering them.
Gary Miller UK, Managing Director, Cyber Security and Consulting UK comments: “Digital technology is transforming the way we live our lives, do business and share information. This new online environment brings with it unprecedented opportunity alongside increased risk for both public and private sector organisationsâ€.
“Our Cybersecurity and Consulting Services organisation addresses these challenges head on, providing customers with answers to multi-disciplinary, cross sector challenges posed by the connected world,†he added.
