Freetech Road Recycling Technology has started a road maintenance project totalling 450,000m² in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, using its ‘Hot-in-Place’ recycling technology.
As part of the project, the company will provide maintenance work for Chuangye Road, the main road of the Economic and Technological Development Zone, and ten other municipal roads in Tongliao, a major transportation hub of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The work on municipal roads especially with heavy traffic includes many difficulties such as limited maintenance time, high-traffic volume, and dust and waste emission issues.
“Since 2011, the company has conducted municipal road maintenance work for the third time in Tongliao.”
By using the ‘Hot-in-Place’ recycling technology, the company could complete a maximum of 10,000m² service area a day, while only occupying one lane of the road at a time with less traffic interruption and waste materials emission, and recycling 100% of the pavement materials.
Since 2011, the company has conducted municipal road maintenance work for the third time in Tongliao.
The technology is used in asphalt pavement maintenance (APM), an on-site, in-place technology that rehabilitates deteriorated asphalt pavements through heating, scarifying and mixing the damaged asphalt materials with new materials and thereby minimises the use of new materials.
The company noted that the primary purpose of this process is to repair pavement damages such as cracks, ruts and holes and bumps.
Freetech is the APM service provider known for its Road Doctor brand with patented ‘Hot-in-Place’ recycling technology.
