World leader in EV charging infrastructure, ABB E-mobility will coordinate the area of charge management as part of the EU-funded NextETRUCK project, contributing solutions that will optimize charge processes for best integration into vehicle operations at the lowest costs.
NextETRUCK is developing concepts tailored for regional medium freight haulage, with at least a 10 percent increase in energy efficiency compared to existing highest-end benchmark electric vehicles.
ABB E-mobility has developed its dedicated software solutions to support companies with larger fleets in the complex transition to electric vehicles. Such solutions are used for the most critical areas of modern fleet management, including charge planning and the integration of electric vehicle fleets into transport operations.
Frank Muehlon, CEO of ABB E-mobility, commented: “We are proud to be responsible in the consortium of this groundbreaking project for the areas of charging management and charging control, two crucial fields for the sustainable and cost-saving management of electric fleets.”
Adina Vălean, EU Commissioner for Transport, added: “The transport sector is under pressure to reduce emissions and time is running out: The European Green Deal sets a target to reduce transport emissions by 90 percent by 2050. Our Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy makes it clear that achieving this target will require greater operational efficiency.”
NextETRUCK plans to show demonstrations of its work in Istanbul, Barcelona, and Utrecht.
