How does weather affect transport, and what information does the sector need to understand the potential future impacts of climate change? In a changing world where we are ever more mobile and ever more connected, this is a topic that many transport stakeholders need to consider.
The Met Office co-leads the EU Horizon2020 research project PRIMAVERA, exploring how the latest generation of high-resolution global climate models could enhance our ability to study European extreme events, many of which affect the transport sector (and others) today.
We’d like to explore with transport stakeholders how this novel information could ultimately be used in, and useful for, climate-related decision-making.
