On June 19, the China-Switzerland Business Dialogue and the second edition of China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) Swiss Roadshow took place in Zurich. The event coincided with the visit of a Chinese business delegation led by Ren Hongbin , president of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
Among the most notable attendees were Ren Hongbin ; Chen Yun , Consul General of China in Zurich and in the Principality of Liechtenstein ; Xie Guoxiang, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland; Stefan Barny , Director of Global Networks and Institutional Relations at Switzerland Global Enterprise; and Robert Wiest , president of the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. More than 100 business leaders from both countries participated.
Ren highlighted that China ‘s large market and integrated industrial chains are significant advantages for development, in contrast to Switzerland’s advanced economic status and industrial capabilities. He highlighted mutual industrial strengths and supply chain potential, and urged Swiss entities to participate in the upcoming exhibition to enhance cooperative ties and streamline global supply chain processes.
Chen praised the inaugural CISCE for demonstrating China ‘s commitment to economic opening-up, which has strengthened international confidence in the second exhibition. He encouraged Swiss companies to take advantage of the opportunities of the exhibition to penetrate the Chinese market.
Xie highlighted the considerable industrial strengths of both China and Switzerland, noting the broad potential for cooperation. He encouraged more companies to seek tangible collaborations with China .
Barny said Switzerland Global Enterprise would facilitate greater Swiss participation in the upcoming expo, a crucial step in strengthening Sino-Swiss and global economic ties.
Wiest expressed his satisfaction with CCPIT’s efforts in organizing the exhibition, describing it as an effective and professional platform that contributes to the orderly development of international trade.
The second CISCE, scheduled for November 26-30, 2024 in Beijing , will feature exhibition areas for advanced manufacturing, smart vehicles, green agriculture, clean energy, digital technology, healthy living and supply chain services . More than 400 companies, from local companies to global players, have committed to participate.
