Turkish Airlines will add 80 new SITA self-service check-in kiosks at three airports in Turkey.
The carrier has already deployed about 70 kiosks at Istanbul’s Atatürk International Airport, and will install ten kiosks in Esenboga International Airport, Ankara, and Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir.
Turkish Airlines ground handling operations senior vice-president Mehmet Buyukkaytan said: “SITA’s kiosks shorten aircraft turn-around time and help us optimise our resources.
“Most importantly, they support increasing passenger satisfaction by reducing queues and offering more flexibility to the passengers on their travel experiences.”
The 80 new kiosks will enable SITA reach 2,000th S3 AirportConnect kiosk mark globally.
SITA Middle East, India and Africa president Hani El-Assaad said: “The new kiosks will help the airline process more passengers more efficiently, especially during peak travel times. In fact, our studies have shown that the kiosks can help increase passenger processing speed by as much as 25%.”
A black kiosk branded with Turkish Airlines’ logo was delivered to mark SITA’s two thousandth S3 kiosk.
SITA signed an agreement with Kuwait International Airport to install new self-service check-in kiosks earlier this month. They are in the final stages of testing.
