The Houston Airport System (HAS) has selected Oncam Grandeye, a Switzerland-based independent, specialised, security and technology company, to provide Evolution 360 cameras for William P Hobby and Bush International Airports.
Preferred Technologies, a Houston-based systems integrator, will integrate the equipment into the Honeywell MaxPro System.
Oncam Grandeye’s director of sales for the Americas Steve Donovan said: “The Houston Airport System team had the objective of creating a cutting-edge deployment that highlighted the unique value of 360-degree technology in critical infrastructure, video-system design.
“We are pleased that HAS chose Oncam Grandeye as a key ingredient to its critically needed security solution.”
The cameras with 360-degree technology will be deployed at security check points, gate areas, large, general areas such as lobbies and waiting lounges, and in hallways to easily cover multiple views.
With Oncam Grandeye Evolution 360 cameras, HAS also intends to save money by reduced camera counts.
Evolution 360 cameras come with fisheye lens and de-warping software, which allow managers to easily discern images and give 24/7/365 situational awareness.
Preferred Technologies president Shaun Castillo said: “By deploying hundreds of 360 cameras, HAS will achieve maximized situational awareness, superior wide-area coverage with reduced blind spots, and a valuable and efficient forensic tool for critical investigations.”
