Solar energy provider FormSolar has completed the installation of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at Antalya and Dalaman airports in Turkey.
Each project at Antalya and Dalaman airport features 962 panels and total 1,924 panels, while the total energy capacity of the systems is 500kWp.
The solar PV systems are expected to produce approximately 796,000kWh of clean energy at the airports in the first year of operation.
FormSolar renewable energy general manager Enis Behar said: “Airports, hotels and holiday centers need institutions to invest in solar energy projects.”
The solar projects were requested by the general Directorate of State Airports, and the work commenced in August.
Ipekyüz Elektrik will provide project management, product supply and activation of systems.
Solar panels for the project were supplied by Yingli Solar Turkey and Form Solar.
Antalya Airport caters to the passengers who come to Turkey’s Mediterranean beaches in summer, and it features two international terminals and one domestic terminal.
Dalaman Airport serves the surrounding tourist areas and environs of Dalaman and features a terminal for domestic flights and a new terminal for international flights.
