License plate recognition (LPR) systems developer PlateSmart Technologies has introduced new access control functionality for ARES, the company’s enterprise LPR-based video analytics platform.
The new feature in the ARES software will allow organisations to automatically control access to parking facilities using license plates of the vehicles.
The software facilitates automatic, seamless parking operation with reduced manual supervision, enabling businesses and other private facilities to grant access to parking based on a list of license plates.
This process eliminates the need to display an ID card or decal.
PlateSmart’s ARES access control system is universally compatible with current parking security systems, and was recently installed by the Adventist Group Hospital in Orlando to control access to its parking garages.
PlateSmart founder and CEO John Chigos said: “The future of parking is definitely LPR-driven. The technology allows for so much more accountability, so much better security than current systems can hope to provide.
“With ARES, PlateSmart continues to drive the cutting-edge of LPR technology by offering the most cost-effective and universally compatible parking security solution on the market.”
The company provides mobile and fixed LPR analytic systems, designed either to function as stand-alone tools or to integrate with third-party software and hardware.
