Mobility and leasing specialist, Alphabet today announced a double success at the FleetWorld Honours 2018, the prestigious annual awards event held at the Royal Automobile Club in London which recognises innovations in the fleet industry.
The Farnborough-based business enjoyed a dual celebration with Chief Financial Officer, Stefan Oswald collecting the award for ‘Innovation in Electric Mobility’, while Technical Services Driver Relations Manager, Danielle Baldwin-Rowe accepted the award for ‘Innovation in Driver Management’ on behalf of the company.
The FleetWorld Honours award for ‘Innovation in Electric Mobility’ is recognition of Alphabet’s unparalleled support for the transition to low and zero emission mobility, through an ongoing strategic commitment to electric vehicles, as well as practical measures to enable EVs and PHEVs to play an increasingly important role in business fleets. Recent innovations in e-Mobility from Alphabet, such as the new Electrification Potential Analysis (EPA) fleet consultancy tool and the introduction of e-Corporate CarSharing with AlphaCity, sealed the victory.
Alex Grant, Editor of FleetWorld commented: “A long-term advocate of plug-in vehicles, Alphabet’s Electrification Potential Analysis is designed to help businesses confidently add the technology to their fleet. Using a GPS data logger, it analyses journey patterns and real-world fuel consumption, showing not only where ULEVs can work, but presenting a detailed cost analysis too. It’s a timely, user-friendly solution.”
The other recognition for Alphabet in the FleetWorld Honours 2018 came for ‘Innovation in Driver Management”. The award was collected by Danielle Baldwin-Rowe, Technical Services Driver Relations Manager and recognised an important service innovation with the creation of the role of ‘Mobility Consultants’ as part of a new, integrated approach to Rental and CarSharing in 2017. This change was allied with other innovations, including new online and app-based self-service tools for drivers, as well as improvements in the overall customer experience through a company-wide, cultural transformation and development programme to Perfect the Alphabet Customer Experience (PACE).
Editor of FleetWorld, Alex Grant commented further: “Launched last year, the Mobility Consultants team is aimed at giving a helping hand to businesses without an in-house fleet manager. Working with customers, the team can help establish a self-service mobility suite for employees, including rental and car sharing services, while minimising the administrative burden of keeping the workforce mobile.”
Stefan Oswald, Chief Financial Officer for Alphabet (GB) Limited collected one of the two awards on the day and commented: “Everyone at Alphabet is very pleased to have been successful with two FleetWorld Honours at these prestigious awards. The two awards are direct recognition of the hard work, dedication and passion of our employees over the past 12 months to increase the take-up in electric mobility, as well as providing a more integrated, holistic solution to meeting the mobility requirements of drivers and employees.
Having joined the UK business a year ago, I’m pleased to represent Alphabet at the FleetWorld Honours for the first time but I’m even more pleased to receive this award on behalf of our customers and the Alphabet employees around the UK who have contributed to this success. With an electrified fleet of over 10,000 vehicles in the UK, Alphabet is playing a vitally important role in helping Corporate, SME and Public Sector customers find innovative ways to meet their day-to-day mobility challenges in more sustainable, cost effective ways.”
