Tulsa International Airport in Oklahoma, US, has commenced a $23m project to renovate its Concourse A.
The project will mirror the recent renovation of Concourse B. It is being managed by Tulsa-based Flintco.
The 40-year old Concourse A will be developed in two phases, with the second phase expected to start in about nine months.
All mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that support the concourse will be replaced; improving the operational efficiency of the facility and the comfort of airport guests.
It will also involve additional changes such as expanded gate areas, new seating with integrated power outlets, new restrooms - including a family restroom, a business centre, and a new military lounge.
As part of the project work, Delta Airlines will be moved from Concourse A to gates B7 and B9, American will stay on Concourse A, however they will relocate from 27 to 22.
The shift of airlines will also affect concession operations on the concourse.
It will be completed over a period of 18 months, and will house the operations for Delta, American, and Allegiant.
The project will be funded by passenger facility charges, through a $4.50 per ticket fee that is added to every departing ticket sold from TUL.
Tulsa International Airport is a city-owned civil-military airport, and Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust (TAIT) is responsible to operate, maintain, construct, improve and/or lease airport facilities.
